Founded in 2023 by Jivan Purewal, a self-made designer from the UK, Shankar is named after Jivan’s ancestorial village in Northern India, Punjab.
Shankar is a UK-based fashion house crafting elegant, timeless apparel in premium fabrics — refined classics that carry the weight of heritage and the precision of much-sought-after Asian couture.
Our philosophy is simple: our roots anchor us to our humanity, and we weave our own story so that we can help you tell yours.
Drawing from the purest fabrics of Asia and the enduring beauty of centuries old cultures, each design becomes a collaboration with a different artist, invited to embroider or paint their vision exclusively for each of our pieces. Every piece is then brought to life — sketched, painted, printed, and stitched — entirely by hand in our atelier in India.
